Confluence

You've steered your meandering life
With soulful purpose to meet mine
Amidst an ocean of strangers, oh
How our fates have intertwined!

Standing here looking at each other
Unmistakable recognition in our eyes
Do you doubt, have fear in heart,
Of whether it's true, or even wise?

Have faith, it's not a dream nor illusion
Open your eyes, if it may seem surreal
Listen to the beats you feel in your heart
Music's pure, beats don't lie, it's for real

Been many a place, met many a kind
Searching for the one, found a few like you
Not you, 'like you' is all they have been,
They left, perhaps they knew I'd meet you

Let me in behind the mystic of your eyes
I yearn to know what makes you, you
Tell me all the stories of your voyages
Tell, you know our confluence is overdue.

Phenomenal Woman

(With apologies to Maya Angelou)

Girlish charms hide her lioness heart
Her easy ways her infinite struggles
A woman of style, oh,  she's resolute
She's a phenomenal woman

She talks business with ease,
As comfortable she's with poetry,
She travels the world alone, passionate
She's a phenomenal woman

Sincere in action, honest to her word,
Caring of people, but not a care for rules
She loves truly; loves, lives and laughs fully
She's a phenomenal woman

She can disarm you with her words
She can drown you in her thoughts
Enamoured by her stories, I just sit, listen
She's a phenomenal woman

Self respecting, self reliant, dependable,
Spoilt in her love for food, a charming host
She thinks deep, talks wise; she's substantial!
She's a phenomenal woman

She stirs passions, awakens imaginations,
Silent beauty, she strides in confidence  ,
Diamond like in many ways, yet so fragile
She's a phenomenal woman

Please, oh please, my phenomenal woman.

Silent Talking

I miss our silent conversations
When we'd let our eager eyes speak
We were truthful without words
But lies our words would seek

Your smiles betrayed thoughts untold
My eyes strayed as your tresses fell
Your curling lips painted a picture
That even long verses failed to tell

Your sweet admonishing look
Would make my heart beat afaster
In a silent room full of sombre people
We could share a hearty laughter

I miss those silent conversations, now,
My words don't say what they mean
Since my eyes've lost the dearest mate
My songs and tales have lost their sheen

Oh, would I would give my voice away
For just another dialogue eye to eye
In a conversation of our quiet ways,
Where silence speaks truth and words lie

An Affair With Imagination (/When I Met My Muse)

It was a late-winter evening; the winds of change blew,
The moon had come out, on the canvas of sky deep blue,
It was moon of a happy evening, better than many before,
For it was the evening I met the one I had looked ever for,
Splendid, you sat before me, telling your tales in abundance,
I listened beaming basking in the blaze of your resplendence,
In that moment I knew, and told you of the good feeling in me,
But even then had no idea, how important you would be to me,
Here I sit, inspired, empowered by your part in my life,
Little need be said about the joy you've brought that’s rife,
An imagined smile from you, like sunshine in gloom, changes my mood,
If I be distressed, a memory of you will assuage ails; I guess it would
It’s a wonderful feeling of peace, contentment in many a way,
I cannot explain how or why, my love for you grows day by day
Whilst moments with you be fiestas, those sans you not; o’ my Muse,
I'll resent that moment this musing ends; ending your elaborate ruse.

A Wish

Bright as can be, colours abound
Carpet of green with butterflies surround
Tulips & roses sway in a  merry aisle
Sunshine whispers its quite arrival
A wish, the day never ends

Young laughter fills the air
Little feet trample the field without a care
Catch the sunshine in their palm
Playful smiles & serene calm
A wish, the  joy never ends

Gathered by the pond
Enjoying the family bond
Basket of treats by the side
Riveting memories with pride
A wish, the celebration never ends

Mares graze way in the distance
Beaming with content stance
Enjoying the hay and the breeze
Under the shade of the trees
A wish, the contentment never ends

Marvel at the miracle of nature
Care for beings to heal & nurture
Feeling of joy, celebration & content blend
Together in this treasure blessed
A wish, the miracle never ends

Flower Of Passion

Flower Of Passion

My my! She's Red Rose, the flower of passion
Get nigh to feel her subtle sensual fragrance
Oh, bold and unafraid to depict herself
She enthralls her beholder with her hues n scents
Naïf, she may appear, a shy lonely bud, at first
Indeed, slowly, she reveals her talents
Layer upon layer, like silken petals
'Course, of which she has many; smart;
you just need to be patient
If you dare to behold her and hold her
Amply, you'll be féted by her warmth, her charms
Treasure her, for her touch is soft and loving
She'll treasure you; show her you do too
For she's a flower of passion, she'll inspire
passions in you; your passions for her
Sinewy, Red Rose is a flower of passion
Hold yourself, for, in no time you be lost
