Silent Talking

I miss our silent conversations
When we'd let our eager eyes speak
We were truthful without words
But lies our words would seek

Your smiles betrayed thoughts untold
My eyes strayed as your tresses fell
Your curling lips painted a picture
That even long verses failed to tell

Your sweet admonishing look
Would make my heart beat afaster
In a silent room full of sombre people
We could share a hearty laughter

I miss those silent conversations, now,
My words don't say what they mean
Since my eyes've lost the dearest mate
My songs and tales have lost their sheen

Oh, would I would give my voice away
For just another dialogue eye to eye
In a conversation of our quiet ways,
Where silence speaks truth and words lie
