Children of the lesser God

Children of the lesser God

Innocent eyes look into mine
Wide & weary without a shine
What have I done ? , seem to ask
To deserve a life where sun doesn't bask?

Clouds of darkness around,
Despair & desolation all surround
Misery from morn to night,
Life’s always been a fight.

My heart sinks at the plight before me
I realise the little one has no sight to see!!
Isn't God moved at the pain you prod
Or are these children of the lesser God ?

She says hope is all I have to live
Tomorrow will be better I believe,
Days will be bright
and heart will be light

“Come with me” I say, “dear Child”
You have nothing to fear & bide.
I will show you the world I imbibe
Lets explore the visions I describe.

You may not have the glimpses to view
But your heart is pure as dew
Where innocent thoughts abide
and Let happy moments reside

You are an angel of the Lord
Not Child of the lesser God

Flower Of Passion

Flower Of Passion

My my! She's Red Rose, the flower of passion
Get nigh to feel her subtle sensual fragrance
Oh, bold and unafraid to depict herself
She enthralls her beholder with her hues n scents
Naïf, she may appear, a shy lonely bud, at first
Indeed, slowly, she reveals her talents
Layer upon layer, like silken petals
'Course, of which she has many; smart;
you just need to be patient
If you dare to behold her and hold her
Amply, you'll be féted by her warmth, her charms
Treasure her, for her touch is soft and loving
She'll treasure you; show her you do too
For she's a flower of passion, she'll inspire
passions in you; your passions for her
Sinewy, Red Rose is a flower of passion
Hold yourself, for, in no time you be lost

When emptiness fills...

My world’s lost its colors n hues, it’s all a shade of grey,
Roses don’t have fragrances, red from blue I cannot say,
Words remain scattered, detached from their substances
Some things that used to give joy, are now just happenstances

Like food to an ailing man, living has lost its flavour,
I make effort but there’s no passion in my endeavour,
The morning has lost its luster, my evening not fuller,
The sun makes way for the dark, my hopes grow duller

Now, she uses her words with deal and forethought,
Her actions are measured, replies with sobriety fraught,
The glitter in her eye is gone, her smile has simply faded,
She says it’s all fine, but with anxiety and worry she’s jaded

My words that used to give her thrill, now give her a shiver,
Today, when I point at the stars, she only sees my finger,
Spark in the conversations is missing, banter is unduly refined,
What fate has befallen me! What direction this, she has defined?

Was I dreaming a dream then or am I in one now, again,
Why does life circle me back, right to where I once began,
How many times should I learn the same lessons, still,
That I cannot find fulfillment in moments emptiness fills.

Woman, thy beauty surpass : A Poem

This Women's Day, I dedicate this poem to all the women who have touched my life or continue to.

Woman, thy beauty surpass

Woman, thy beauty surpass the beauty,
Of nature, whose you are the creation best
Nurture is your nature, eve,

From since when I was a seed at first.

You've borne me within and sustained me
Peace I found as a child in your warm breast,
Holding me as I slept and I learned to dream
You instructed me on respect, values and trust.

A welcome gift of life, from the same womb,
You played with me, fought, and you competed,
Taking both of us higher, as you inspired at times
Growing up, my upbringing you completed

Grappling with rules of life as I learned and schooled, you,
Encouraged me, as you taught; and got taught beside
I discovered weaknesses, built strengths as we
Chatted, frolicked, studied and raced side-by-side.

As I labour to earn my bread, you make it fun,
You lead, help, manage, collaborate, critique
With your thoughts, ideas, efforts and lending hand,
You help achieve the common objectives we seek

Destiny brought us together to nurture
Each other, help us grow and nourish our souls
You teach me ways to love and take care of me
As life partner, you share my hopes, plans and life's goals

As friend, you are always there, beside me
To help me get through travails with unconditional support
You are my partner, my advisor, my companion,
My muse, and at times source of soulful rapport.

Woman, thy beauty surpass the beauty,
Of nature, whose you are the creation best
They say you borrowed man's rib to get your form
But you give back so much more; we attest.

The Darkness of Sunshine

Exploring something new with this poem. Any critique of this vers libre is welcome.

The darkness of Sunshine

Once there was a white rose,
They called her Sunshine,
Reflected the day's glow around,
Said she was a creation fine

She sang, danced, laughed
In the wind; Little did they see,
Inside Sunshine there was darkness,
Which beneath her glow she hid

One day a bee found Sunshine,
She opened up to the bee
He sang, danced and played with her,
Wished he'd set her darkness free

But Sunshine was daunted,
Held on to her darkness tight
Fragile, she felt without it,
Thought darkness gave her might

She drew herself deeper into darkness,
And pushed away the bee
But such was the darkness,
Potent, that it stayed on with the bee
