Kintsugi for the Soul

A ceramic bowl breaks;
In Japan, they heal the cracks with gold
The beauty of the thought, of Kintsugi art,
Is to be understood and told

Every bowl has a destiny to live,
can't go to dust can't depart
For, from maker to keeper,
     down generations it must last

Birth, growth, life, death, from dust to dust,
Nature's law everything obeys; it's a must

Breakage is a part of the history of growing
We make mistakes, choices, at times knowing

People are emotional beings,
Thankfully, we're built only that way
Emotions make and break relationships,
But can't just throw them away

If we nurture love and trust, heartfelt, without haste
For a moment's reason or lack, ought not it be waste
Love is a journey and not a destination,
Love is an experience, needs works and determination

Bowl or soul, each deserves its cracks to heal, glow,
Gold for the bowl, grace and understanding for the soul.
